Position Description

Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Location: La Crosse, WI, 54601

Duration: 13-Week Contract (Strong Possibility of Extension)

Shift: 8-hour Eves (8*5); 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hr./week

Pay Range: $40 to $44/hr. (DOE)

Job Description:

Job Summary:

  • Assists in the professional management of the facility's medical department.
  • Apply appropriate nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.
  • Attend sick calls with the physician to see inmates/residents; prepare a list of inmates/residents to be examined.
  • Prepare the examination room and equipment. Operate pill call, dispense medication, and document as required by applicable policies and/or procedures.
  • Control medication, syringes, and other medical supplies or equipment and inventory as required by established procedures.
  • Perform emergency procedures as needed. Keep equipment and work area clean; utilize appropriate sanitation methods.
  • Document and report activities following established policies and/or procedures, including medical file documentation.

Job Requirements:

  • LPN License in the state of Practice or Compact License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS); AHA is highly preferred.
  • One year of LPN experience is required.
  • Long-Term Care experience is highly preferred.
